Copyright and Fair Use

What I understand by Copyright and fair use is that you must get permission to use copyright material. It will be considered fair use if you get the author's permission.

After reading and discussing more about Copyright and fair use I have learned that I need to change the way I use images primarily. I didn't know that as a teacher you could get sued for using images that have a copyright. I thought since the images were not being used to create revenue off of them, that it was permissible. Now I understand that these images with a copyright must be modified if I wish to use them in my classroom, or get permission from the company to use them.
